A long time ago on a playlist far far away...

Are you like me? Are you sick of tired of having your entire Star Wars soundtrack library looking like a patchwork quilt of crappy album covers full of poorly inspired photo collage's of awkwardly posed awkward actors? Sure you are! Well then do what I did...take it upon yourself to bring balance back to the force by providing the consistency and order to the entire 6 disc collection of album artwork in your own iTunes or iPod library that John Williams so rightly deserves. No matter what you think about the prequels you can't accuse John Williams of phoning it in. Who's with me? Anyone? Oh geez.

For those who dare to care...I am including full size jpg's if you feel like adding these babies to your own collection. May the force....eh you know the rest.

Tis the Seasons

This is a set of seasonal catalogue cover illustrations I did recently for a client at work.

Live and in color!

The pieces finally came together and just in time to hand them in for the show. The show turned out great and I was honored to be a part of this with so many great artists bringing such fun and diverse work. The gallery is open by appointment every day except Sunday and Monday. Our show will be up until Nov. 27th.

And down the stretch they come!

Down to the final week before the artwork is due. I've got the sculpting pretty much done with a few tweaks here and there. Next I'll be coaxing these little guys into the oven like Frau Totenkinder (anyone?...no?) to bake them. Here's hoping they come out safely on the other side. Take Luck!

You got your clay on my foil...you got your foil in my clay!

I've been building up each piece little by little trying to stay as true to the thumbnail I have for reference. The deadline is getting closer and closer and I'm feeling the pressure. I still have yet to bake them, paint them and mount them (ahem).

And so it begins

I am participating in a show called Fact Vs. Fiction put on by the local legend Dan Zettwoch (http://www.danzettwoch.com/) scheduled for November 5th at the Mad Art Gallery in Soulard. Here is a sneak peak at the beginnings of my submissions. I am working on a set a faux mounted head pieces. One will be the Jabberwocky and the other other will be Rocky Racoon. I started with sketches then moved to a small scale 3d thumbnail using super sculpey to work out how it lives in 3 dimensions and now I am working on the inner core of the pieces by building the skeleton so to speak with foil and wire. I have a couple of wood plaques that will be used to mount them on as well.

Save the robits.

I created this droid character design for a local dj that goes by the handle Kidroid. The artist is MU6 and the poster was used to promote the first album. I did a cd cover to go along with it.

Owl Character Designs

I created these owl concepts for the school that my kids go to. They are the Craig Elementary Owls and they sent out a request for new owl artwork. I didn't spend a bunch of time on them, but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. We'll see what they think about them.
